At the end of March 2011 the Norwegian photographer Terje Sørgjerd travelled up north to photograph the Aurora Borealis.
Four years of waiting. 40 kilos equipment. 22 000 pictures. Several nights out in 25 degrees below Celsius. A clear sky and one gigantic storm on the sun. This is what it took to create this 1 minute and 55 seconds movie.
Next winter this is where we will be living. And it makes my heart skip a beat!

Beautiful and magical- kinda reminds me of the lighting at a concert- but in a natural and majestic sort of way!
SvarSlettHow amazing really to think such beauty is around us... and how wonderful there is someone out there to catch it and show the rest of us!
SvarSlettHave a great week!
It is amazing! Its only been a couple of years since I heard of this (obviously only as the northern lights) and its something I'd love to see for myself. Maybe I will one day who knows...
SvarSlettGosh Signe, I'm almost speechless. That is incredibly beautiful. I've never seen land like that before, or the Aurora. I don't think I exhaled until that movie was over.
SvarSlettThe stars move differently in Norway, since you are so high up on the earth. It's so strange to see. Hopefully I can see it in person one day.

So amazing!
SvarSlettHerlig!
Vakker natur!*smile*
