Good Monday morning!
How was the weekend? We had a nice time with lots and lots of rest and relaxation!
This week will be filled with work, work, work and a trip to Ulla for dinner, wine and board games on Friday! What are your plans for the upcoming week?

Yesterday was very hectic with overtime at work and when I was done I had to hurry home and run through the shower because we were expecting Ulla over for some wine and chit chat. So here is this week’s Friday favorite - a day too late!

Spring is not more than a few months away and I am already dreaming of warmer weather - but for what is left of the winter I would not mind dressing in something like this!

Good Monday morning!

How has the weekend been treating you? Hope you got loads of relaxing done? Me and Cas have once again been tackling the mayhem that is IKEA on a Saturday and furniture assembling - but we made it out alive! Go us!

This week Cas is starting his Norwegian classes, will be fun to see how that goes! And for the weekend I am eager to do something else than buying, building and rearranging furniture so I think a nice dinner and a movie and a get-together with some friends sounds just perfect.

When you think about it spring is not really that far away? Stores are already filling up with spring wear and I am already starting to dream about warmer weather and sunny days. Let's hope these two next months fly by quickly and that march arrives soon with melting snow and longer days - so that we can finally hide away some of these heavy winter clothes!

And today we have been back to IKEA again to get a second desk and another desk chair. Luckily I think that is all the furniture we need at this point so we won't have to go back there for a while now! What about you - how have your weekend been so far?

I have only been to Paris once in my life (another one of my family surprise trips) but it is still easily one of my favorite cities of all times. Shopping at Champs Elysées, having lunch in Montmartre, catching the show at Lido and visiting my favorite part of town - 'La Mouffe'.

I think 2011 should be the year I visit Paris for the second time!

Good Monday morning cupcakes!

Did you have a nice weekend? We spent our weekend making our way to IKEA and home again with a ton of new stuff on Saturday and then assembling it all on Sunday. So far we got one desk and a new dresser out of the way but we will still have to go back for another desk and a chair sometime later this week. It is a lot of hustle and bustle but if sure feels nice to finally get these things sorted out and get access to some extra storage space!

The upcoming week we will have to locate a textbook for Cas that will start his Norwegian class the upcoming Monday. But he already knows a few words and he is sooo cute talking Norwegian with his Dutch accent - you should hear him!! *smile*

What are your plans for the upcoming week?

tulips

Every now and then the mailman will come and deliver these nice little surprise parcels from my mom. Just before Christmas she sent a lovely little package filled with homemade cookies, some lovely tin cans filled with sweets from a local chocolate factory and handmade soaps from a local lady.

And last week when I had the flu I got these lovely tulips delivered on my doorstep to cheer me up!

Isn't it funny how a mom never really stops being a mom - even long after her children are all grown up?

There is nothing quite like a warm and soothing cup of tea! And maybe especially when one is battling angry germs, cold feet, monday mornings or heavy hearts...

My hopes are that you won't have to battle either of those this weekend - but can just curl up on the couch with your hands around a lovely warm mug with your favorite brand of tea and enjoy!

I will be grateful for this day

Oh happy day! I can breathe through my nose! I am neither boiling nor shivering from cold! My head is not threatening to explode anymore! I am out of bed and I am wearing something else than my pajamas!

In other words my flu is down to a mere cold again and I don't think I've ever felt better!
Life is grand ♥

Yeah - that wasn't a cold but the flu! You know the kind where you just can't seem to get out of bed and everything hurts? So I'll see you when this finally wears off - back to bed!

Good Monday morning!

Or in my case - not so great... I had this pesky cold before Christmas that didn't seem to want to let go but in the holiday I got better and I thought I was finally rid of it. But after only a few days back at work again - so is the damn cold! Don't know if it is the dry indoor climate in my office that gets to me or what... So today I am just thankful for home office, nose drops and tea - hope I'll be fit for fight again by tomorrow!

Happy birthday Cas! Naturally a celebration is in order and for breakfast I served white chocolate muffins with vanilla glazing and strawberries. Yum! Later we are having some friends over for homemade lasagna and for dessert we have more muffins and champagne.

new years weekend

Here are a few pictures from our New Year weekend up north like I promised you. 
We had the best time slacking on the couch with a book, hiking, eating a LOT of good food and even while getting beaten by my brother in monopoly.

As you can see the 'dark time of the year' is not really pitch dark but more blueish. 
The sun still gives a dim sort of daylight even if it never makes it up over the horizon!
