How is your week coming along? Mine has been good so far and now it is only 1 day left until the weekend. Saturday we are going to a farmers market in town and I just can't wait! All those homemade treats makes my mouth water just from thinking about it :)

with only a lot of good food and a bit of shopping on the agenda.

And yes, I am getting along quite well with ms. Melody.

Cas found himself a new friend yesterday. Her name is Melody DeLonghi and she kinda looks a bit like a small spaceship. { And just between us - she is quite noisy as well... }

But Cas promised me that she is capable of whipping up and amazing Iced Coffee so I'll play along. For now. Maybe we will learn to get along eventually!

How has this last week in March been treating you? Oslo has been showing off with great weather and spring in the air all week long! It does not get much better than that!

For the weekend we have planned a shopping trip downtown today to get some things we want to bring up north and later we are going to have a go at making homemade foccacia. YUM! Tomorrow we are indulging and making homemade chili burgers. Even more YUM!

the aurora

At the end of March 2011 the Norwegian photographer Terje Sørgjerd travelled up north to photograph the Aurora Borealis.

Four years of waiting. 40 kilos equipment. 22 000 pictures. Several nights out in 25 degrees below Celsius. A clear sky and one gigantic storm on the sun. This is what it took to create this 1 minute and 55 seconds movie.

Next winter this is where we will be living. And it makes my heart skip a beat!

How was your weekend? Mine was nice and quiet and we just spent the time snuggeling up on the couch and loading our batteries for a new week. 

For some reason I am really low on energy these days and most days I am in bed by like 10 in the evening. SO unlike me! So if you find me a bit absent some days you know I just snuck off to bed a bit early ;)

I'm watching ~ About to start on Dexter season 3 and The Wire.

I'm dreading ~ Going back to the hospital for some more testing by the stomach specialists. I am positive about the whole thing but still dreading it a bit... How sick can I be when I feel almost fine - right? 

I'm happy about ~ That the hospital let me go home again for now! Let me tell you - Cas makes a better nurse than any of the staff at Aker Hospital!

I'm excited about ~ Moving up north! 11 weeks and counting! *happy dance*

I'm craving ~ Sleep! So happy I can sleep in my own bed again tonight!
I'm wanting ~ To find a nice little crib close to either the forest or the water for me and Cas.
I'm hoping ~ To stay healthy for years to come. Fingers crossed!

Pssst! And thank you for all the sweet comments you sent me while I was in the hospital, you guys are THE BEST!

hmpf...

So uhm, I sort of got stuck at the hospital! Just went to my doctor to figure out why the stomach cramps from last weekend never quite gave up and he admitted me to the hospital. What a big meany he is... Think they fear that it could be the appendix - but hopefully the CT I took yesterday will say otherwise and they can send me home again.

Thank god for my iPhone, interior magazines and your blog updates or I would be bored to death in here. Now that would look bad on my toe tag 'cause of death: boredom' :)

Keep your fingers crossed it is nothing serious ( I'm sure it's not - I feel quite allright!) and that they will let me go home today!

Good Monday morning cupcakes!

How was your weekend? I was buzy flipping through interior magazines and patrolling interior webshops for treasures while recovering from the stomach flu.
Yesterday we had anoyher trip to the Sunday market, pistachio milshake in hand, and we managed to find 3 new lovely vases and a silver tray that will get to travel with us up north. Oh joy!

And looking at todays images all I can think is 'Oh civilization, it will be hard to stay away!'

Now why would anyone go and move north of the polar circle?

Is it for the summer? With its seagulls, wild flowers everywhere and midnight sun? That's all nice and dandy but when you think about it - summer is nice everywhere! 
It's NOT for the spring that arrives late in May - that’s for sure... 
Is it for the winter? With its crisp air, aurora borealis and months spent in darkness? Where people hibernate in their homes with lit candles and just wait out the sun - and when it's first rays finally hits you in January you are filled with such joy that you can't even begin to describe it? It certainly has its charm, but I am sure that is not it..? 
Is it perhaps the autumn? Where the nights grow darker every day and the nature all around you is on fire with colors? When the storm shakes your house and blows you off the sidewalk?

Is it the front row seat to the ever changing dance of the seasons? 
Happening all around you so that you are sucked into it and feel like you are part of it all?

Is it the fresh seafood? 
Is it the moose steak every fall? 
Is it the fresh trout cooked on a bonfire?
Is it the blueberries growing right outside your door?

Is it in the roaring sea or the ever changing sky? 
Or when they meet up on the middle so that blue is all you can see?

Is it the time that just seem to move slower? 
Where everything moves in a lower gear and 'stress' is a very little used term?

Or is it in your blood? 
If you grew up in headwind with the salty sea breeze in your hair and the impatience roaring in your blood like the storm - can you really ever be happy anywhere else?

Beats me!

Moving to a brand new place is the perfect opportunity to get rid of some things you have been keeping around for too long and to invest in something new to create a home after your taste where everything blends together well.

Here are some of the things that inspire me these days and some of the ideas I have about how our new home should turn out. Will be exciting to see how it translates from my head to an apartment that we have yet to find!

And thank you for your well wishes yesterday! I am feeling a lot better today already and the fever is gone - which leads me to believe it was just a quickly passing stomach flu or maybe food poisoning. Hooray, at least I can enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Now off to catch up on the blog updates I have been missing the last couple of days!
