I think I can safely say that these red beauties are my biggest shoe craving at the moment
- I am sure they would work wonders for just about any outfit and especially for the New Years Eve party! Add a bit of 'Ruby Woo' lipstick and you are fit for fight! Wouldn't you agree?

And on this last day of the year I would also like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of my readers in 2010. Whether you stop by once a day, once a week or once a month you are most welcome and I am looking forward to getting to know you better in 2011!

Leaving for 'home' today and just wanted to say goodbye and wish you all a happy New Year - I can't wait to eat my mom’s cooking and see my family and friends again for a few days!

We don’t have internet access at the cabin but I will be back in Oslo and posting regularly again from Wednesday the 05th of January - and I promise to take a ton of pictures up north!

Good Monday morning!

How was your Christmas? Mine was just perfect! Nothing but nice and quiet days with just me and Cas and loads of good food, walks out in the snow, watching season 5 of Entourage on DVD and leveling archeology (in World of Warcraft for you non-geeks).

This week I will work until Thursday and then we will jump on the plane to go up north to visit my family and friends for New Years. Can't wait to dig in some of my mom's cooking, see 'the nettes' again and celebrate New Years Eve with my family!

Few hours of work now and then it is finally Christmas! I can't wait! Me and Cas will fill our holiday with loads of good food, slacking in pajamas in front of the TV and going through my clothes for stuff we can donate to charity. As it is we simply don't have any place to put his things so something has got to go!

I will stop by tomorrow to announce the winner of my giveaway but other than that posting might be a bit irregular during the holidays - just so you know!

So yesterday evening when I got home from my dinner and bowling with work I called up Cas on skype just to say good night.

Me 'yay, just two days left now!'
Him 'two days? hehe - I will be getting on the plane already tomorrow!'
Me '...what?!'

And such is my life living with a practical joker! 
The only thing I can be sure of is that if he is given the chance to trick me - he will!

Ah well, TODAY is better than tomorrow!

I'm watching ~ Nothing at the moment. But will probably pick up some show on dvd for the holidays. Any suggestions?
I'm dreading ~ Hmm... Nothing really. Or maybe that the weather forecast for Oslo promise us temperatures towards minus 25 degrees celsius next week. Brrrr!
I'm excited about ~ A lot of things! Cas moving in, Christmas, traveling up north to celebrate New Years Eve with the family, presents, today's dinner party with work. What's not to be excited about?
I'm craving ~ Nothing special at the moment. But I am excited about my presents and about all the good food that the holiday brings!
I'm wanting ~ That the days will just fly by and that Thursday will be here before I know it!
I'm hoping ~ That each and every one of you will have a happy holiday!

Good Monday morning cupcakes!

How was your weekend? Mine was nice and quiet but full of anticipation! The big week is finally here and Cas have got his bags packed and his passport ready. Oh joy! 

This week will be a buzy one - I have a dinner party and bowling with work tomorrow, Wednesday will be all about some last minute cleaning, Christmas decoration and a whole lot of butterflies in my tummy before Cas finally comes 'home' on Thursday! And Friday is Christmas Eve! Phew!

The shows I watch on dvd counts right? Because if it doesn’t then I am in trouble! I just don’t watch much TV but Cas and I like to get our favorite shows on dvd and watch a few episodes every now and then if we get bored.

Four Things I Am Passionate About:

This is a tricky one because my attention span is very short and what I am passionate about one month can be something else entirely the next! Like with reading it can be ‘on’ for a long while and I just plow through 2-3 books a week and then suddenly it is ‘off’ and it can take two years before I pick up another book. And with wow I tend to play a lot during autumn and winter but less in spring and almost not at all during summer. 
I know – I am a bit strange…

Four Phrases I Say A Lot:
1.   'Wait what?!' - every time something surprises me
2.   'Pfffff!' - I don't believe you
3.   'Ow really..?' - nope, still don't believe you!
4.   'You can forget about it!' - no really - just forget it!

Four Things I’ve learned From The Past:
1.   My temper can get me in trouble...
2.   I rather have 1 really good friend than 100 acquaintances. Actually make that 1000 acquaintances! My friends are the kind that will jump on the first plane to come to your aid if you need it and I would do the same for them.
3.   My first impression about people is usually the right one. Unfortunately this is somewhat of a self fulfilling prophecy since I don't tend to give second chances...
4.   Don't worry so much about what other people think about you! You can't please everyone so just be yourself and stay clear of the people that you don't 'click' with!

Four Things I Did Yesterday:
1.   Got a package in the mail from the lovely Mrs Hardy.

2.   Ate a burger for lunch and just bread for dinner
3.   Played wow
4.   Skyped with Cas for hours

1.   Cas moving in with me the 23rd of December (duh!)

4.   Finding a little cat friend or two that can move in with us

1.   A new cabinet or dresser for our apartment

Good Wednesday morning!

How is your week coming along? I had a good time at the Christmas party with work yesterday but as a result of the unknown amounts of cava we consumed we are all a tad reduced at work today. But at least most of us are present in the office at 10.00...

I hope an unhealthy lunch at Burger King will mend us and we will be right as rain :)

Good Monday morning cupcakes!
I am so glad to be up and jumping again and out of the house for the first time in what feels like ages! Isn't it strange how amazing it feels to have a few quiet days at home in the weekend or when you have holiday but when you are sick it gets old really fast and you are just dying to get back into society again?

This week I have a Christmas party with work to attend and I need to get a bit of Christmas shopping done. Among other things I need to find a moose roast somehow! I made one on Christmas Eve last year and now Cas thinks it should be a tradition. He is just crazy about traditions so I am pretty much prepared to eat moose roast on every Christmas Eve for the rest of our days...
I also need to get the apartment washed from top to bottom this weekend so that it is ready for Christmas and Cas moving in. Just 10 days now!!

What is your plans for the upcoming week?

Madame Butterfly White Tea & Jeanne d'Arc Living - The Christmas Edition

Sorry about the lack of posts yesterday but I woke up with what must be the flu or maybe a sinus infection so I am just spending most of my time curled up on the couch with a teacup and something to read or in front of the TV. Much like in these images from last weekend, but unfortunately it is just not nearly as enjoyable when you are sick!

I am also falling a bit behind on reading and/or commenting on all my favorite blogs so if you haven't heard from me in a while just bare with me - I will be back to my normal chatty self again when this wears off!

I also noticed that I have reached 200 GFC friends while I was passed out on the couch - what a nice surprise! I have a small giveaway up my sleeve and I will try to post about it sometime during the weekend or next week so be sure to check back in then :)

One of the easiest and loveliest ways of decoration for Christmas is to grab a light string and just stuff it into a bowl, vase or bottle. 

This is my take on it - a string of cones, bells and hearts in a flower pot!

How is life in your corner of the world? Oslo is cold but frankly who gives a damn about the weather when it is only 17 days until Cas moves here?! He is starting to get a little bit travel fever and I am just giddy and acting like a complete idiot in love half the time!

The hard part about shopping for Christmas presents is that I find so many nice things for myself as well! Most of the time I manage to resist the temptation but yesterday I found a nice deal on the scent Clean Warm Cotton and ended up buying it to myself. (And yes - I am actually going to try to get along with a perfume that is not from Dior!)

This week’s Friday favorite is dedicated to another one of my favorite blogs.
Fräulein Klein is written by the very talented and creative Yvonne who is living in the south of Germany. Here she showcases her home as well as shares her decorating ideas and DYI projects, food recipes and lifestyle. But the perhaps most noticeable feature is how she does it - through her mesmerizing images. Not only do I love her style and everything she puts in front of the lens but I am also smitten by how she edits her images and how her post are always so thought through and well designed.

Every time I visit I come away from it feeling inspired and with a smile on my face -- so if you haven't seen this gem of a blog yet I suggest you head on over and check it out!

the joy of giving

I just love giving gifts! I love buying them, I enjoy wrapping them up and nothing is better than when you nail it and the gift is appreciated by the recipient!

Think I have it from my mom, she is just the same. Actually - I think she is worse.
Last year when I was visiting her in December she was done with all her Christmas presents for the year and when I revealed that I had a few left for my girlfriends she says 'Ooooh, we can go shopping for gifts, how fun! Won't you let me pitch in a bit so that the gifts to your friends are a little bit from me too?
